If we vote in favor of raising it I think we should redraft, unless people who picked don't mind. Either way the league owner gets final say, just wanted to get a count.
Average salary of player with current cap is like 3.
70,200,000 * 30 (current NHL # of teams) = 2,106,000,000(total salary in NHL if all at max) 2,106,000,000 / 20 (current teams in our league) = 105,300,000 And we're at 70,200,000 that's a 35millon difference, yes we need to raise it by like 15 million.

I voted for 15 mill. Also, I do not mind and neither does Bruins.

I'm amenable as well. Seems St. Louis and Chicago arent pressing for a change beyond what the League and the NHL has either.

ive changed my mind. so many high prospects with expensive contracts, we wont be able to draft anyone really. taylor hall and eberle are worth their contract, but some players are really high and they only will produce maybe 20 points next season. we are going to be left with a massive pool of 2nd tier talent which will be very valuable to teams, but unobtainable due to contracts.
as well, we draft players this year that have signed with huge player bonuses (talking about the rookie draft) that if they play 25 games we have to move them to the roster, and thus onto our cap, or give them up (ie Yakupov and his 3.75million salary average over 3 years)

I should have added a "do not care option", that way we'd know when everyone has voted.

I want to know what Black Hawks would do if the cap went up. He seems to be the only person that has a problem out of the people who have drafted..

Rosters need to be larger if we raise cap. Raise cap deepen rosters so all players have value. Pretty simple as I don't think raising cap by itself does much

If we keep it the way it is, a lot of good players with high cap hits will not be selected. I sure as hell don't want to spend nearly 8 million on a dman like Weber.

You could give my team away. I don't play in leagues that change rules in mid season. Granted we aren't even in season yet, it sets a very bad precedent. Maybe a solution is that the farm team doesn't count against your original cap. We are trying to squeeze 32 real teams into a 20 team fantasy of course there's going to be talented players not drafted because they are too expensive for a 70.2 cap. That is what is awesome about this you have to use your brain and decide do you want 3 stud players for a combined total of close 25% or 30% of your cap or spread it out not to have a 500k defenseman.

or at least change players drafted in the rookie draft. make them a base of 900,000 instead of their salary cap w/ bonuses.

Umm the farm team already doesn't count towards cap.

If you guys want an increased cap, you're more than welcome to start your own league. That is one of the things that is non negotiable, and that I enjoy about leagues like this, which is why I made this league. Leagues with inflated caps aren't that enjoyable to me, and as Chicago said, it leaves you tough decisions you have to make, which I think adds to the fun of the league.

I am surprised that people would leave the league over a salary cap.
It would be easier to have it higher of course but it is certainly more fun to have it realistic.
I am in another keeper league where the cap is 68mil and we have no problems at all and we are in our 5th year.

I agree with this.....tough decisions still have to be made with inflated cap if you inflate roster. If you don't want to do that i am fine with that and will draft accordingly.
