Just a thread for general talk throughout the season. Oh, and I am proud to announce that I, the Hartford Whalers are the leader of the league after day one.

I vote we switch next year to ESPN...yahoo blows big time. Fantrax, please. We could have all of our players listed, including active, bench and minors, and move them appropriately.

Have we not been through this before? We all signed up for a Yahoo league. And it's worked fine so far.

Nothing against trying to enhance the experience in the coming seasons if it's there to be had, right?
Pros and Cons...List them.

I don't know.. I just see it as that we all commited to this league and the yahoo system. I know I chose this league mainly because it was run with yahoo. A big reason why is the app. I do almost everything on my iPhone and without yahoo I'd likely become less active and eventually disinterested. That's just the way I see it.

It is possible to discuss things in a pro/con fashion without actually implementing a change . No one's changing anything...just talking. I don't know, but do the other fantasy league formats provide for iPhones? If they did, and were superior to Yahoo, wouldn't that be an important piece of information in the future for other leagues you may be interested in joining? At any rate... +++ Couldn't believe the league stats for a night saw Jaromir Jagr and Teemu Selanne atop the table. Remarkable.

I get the Yahoo! app part, I use it, too. But the one thing that's problematic with Y! is not having the prospects on your actual squad. I'd like to be able to see what players are available while in the actual points format. Or move players up and down without having to drop and add them, etc. Fantrax allows for that. Right now, in order to find out what team owns a prospect, I have to file through individual team pages.

I feel like ESPN is just superior. I have one in each league and ESPN has real time scoring and much better layouts and organization. I don't know if ESPN has an app for it but I know they have a good app for fantasy football. I don't have a smart phone right now.
It's really not that big of a deal...just a thought.
Also why are there two teams who aren't starting any players in yahoo? did they just give up on the league or something?

After some research, I found there is no ESPN fantasy hockey app. For some reason they only have apps for Football, Basketball and Baseball. Fantrax on other hand does not have an app at this time, but it sounds like the Fantrax team is working on creating an app to be released soon.

Oilers is very close to being kicked out of the league. I have other people who are interested in the league so if he doesn't make some sort of effort very soon, he's out.

I'm a fan of Yahoo/Fantrax. My only gripe with Fantax is that you can just move players without having to worry about calling them up to get more points. In one leauge, several teams were stashing players in the minors and then just assigning them to an open starting slot when one is free. Yahoo is better in that regard because you have to wait at least a day or two before it goes through.
Not a fan of ESPN. Plus, they didn't get their deal with the NHL so they don't care about hockey anyway.
